Rikki’s guidance with use of tools was perfect and any flaws in our technique were fixed under his guidance. The day was relaxed and laid back. Lots of laughs all round. View fullsize "I’ve been bodysurfing without a handplane for a number of years and after testing out a WAW handplane I was surprised at how light and comfortable it felt and how it increased my speed in the water. I wanted to craft my own design for barrel riding so I thought I’d give the workshop a go. From the moment the workshop begin I was impressed with Rikki’s knowledge and experience of creating a handplane and the tools and process he adopts to go through the process. It was very rewarding to take a blank of wood and sculpt it into my very own hydrodynamic sexy masterpiece. View fullsize What a great experience for anyone of any level, we had a group of 4 people and all of us were given the same amount of time and direction by Rikki. Techniques and professional opinions were given to us while our own creativity shaped our handplanes. We were all on different levels of experience of powertools and knowledge of handplanes and Rikki guided us all through a really fun day and overall experience.
