Caitlin Callahan is the newest WAW handplanes sponsored bodysurfer. She burst onto the scene in 2022 making it the finals of numerous mixed-sex bodysurfing contests and dominating the top spot in the women's field. With Titles at Newcastles Flat Rock and the Coolumn Wedge and ranked as Australia’s top female body surfer according to the IBSA. She was awarded bodysurfer of the year at the 2023 Australian Bodysurfing Classic held in Kiama.

Why do you love body surfing?
I fell in love with bodysurfing as a child, riding waves on mum and dad's back. I've cherished the thrill ever since. After my first competition, I was amazed with the supportive community and have made some wonderful friendhsips. I'm passionate about the freedom bodysurfing offers in the water and the feeling of chasing big waves.
Whats your favorite kind of wave to bodysurf?
Big and closing out! I can’t wait to experience more waves all over the world! I’ll swim out in anything (pretty please invite me on trips!).
